Karl Jenkins The Armed Man: a Mass for Peace
The Welsh composer Karl Jenkins first achieved fame with "Adiemus", the backing track for the British Airways television commercial of the mid 1990s. His work has become very popular with audiences who prefer classical music of the easy-listening variety. "The Armed Man", commissioned to mark the Millennium, has had over 300 performances; loosely built around the mediaeval popular song of the same name, it is a passionate plea for peace and against war.   Review
