John Bate, Artistic Director

We are particularly fortunate in having access to superb choral training from our artistic director, John Bate, whose professional reputation is well known in London music circles.

John Bate was a cathedral chorister, a Scholar and professor of Trinity College of Music, and until recently Conductor of Choirs and Orchestras, Director of Music Performance, and a Principal Lecturer, in Kingston University.

He has freelanced in many kinds of conducting and teaching work, directing performing groups in a wide range of activities. He has chorus-mastered the Philharmonia Chorus and the Royal Choral Society and has conducted concerts in many parts of England and Europe.
